This is just as important as light weight, if not more
so!
You need air circulating over your body to stay cool.
Fabric that doesn't breathe well will trap both heat and perspiration between
you and your clothing. Finer threads, looser weaves, and more porous materials
all help add to a textile's breathability. Cotton, linen and wool are all great
summer fabrics. Wool is the most functional as it creases least and it is the
easiest to maintain. Artificial fibers are typically the least breathable
and consequently will create a barrier between you and the atmosphere locking in
heat and perspiration.
